I love how their relationship isn’t the cliche “We met and instantly connected and now were best friends.” Their first meeting was what you would call “starting off on the wrong foot.” Their interactions were complex and honestly pretty toxic at some points.
He was a sad person and just needed someone to reassure him that he isn’t alone anymore and needs to learn how to talk to people. He learns how to let people Louis in and learns to really trust him. He is a really flawed character throughout most of the story, but also learns to grow and learns how to be better. He had been through some things that completely shattered his ability to truly trust someone and really let them in. One moment he and Louis were bonding and having fun, and the next moment he was kicking Louis out and being reserved, cold and distant again. He was always hot and cold throughout the story. Harry is an extremely complicated character. He is full of perfections and imperfections and both are made extremely clear to the audience that he isn’t perfect and he isn’t meant to be.Īnd Harry. He’s whiny and complains about everything and also extremely stubborn and likes to get what he wants.
With the way Louis was really outgoing and funny but wouldn’t take anyone’s bullshit. It’s intense and really forms an emotional connection with the audience.Īlso, the characterization is definitely one of the best things about Young & Beautiful. I love how this fic isn’t the typical “lovey dovey” and fluff filled fic, but more angst filled and elegant and mature. The author is immensely talented and has such a way with words that just captivates the reader and leaving wanting more. This story is so brilliantly and beautifully executed and told in a way that sucks you in and gets you really invested in the characters and how their lives are going to play out. If I didn’t read fanfiction, or if I was never even a One Direction fan, I would still probably adore this masterpiece.įirst were going to focus on the things I love about Young & Beautiful. Young & Beautiful is one of the most beautiful pieces of fanfiction I’ve ever read. Honestly, I have no idea how this is going to work, but I’ll figure it out as we go along.
